Work
- 2008-Present Solspace
- 1999-Present Freelance Web Developer
- 2010-Present Co-founder and President, M-CM Network
Accomplishments
- 2011 Founded the M-CM Network and rapidly launched a website that includes a detailed syndrome description. Much of this information was previously inaccessible to most families affected by this rare genetic syndrome. The syndrome description is designed to be used by both clinicians and patient families and includes features to help lay people understand complex medical terminology.
- 2010 Led the strategic planning and launch of a redesigned Solspace.com. The new site reflects a dramatic shift from client services to software sales and includes a robust e-commerce component.
- 2010 Led the CMS implementation team for the re-design of investigative journalism powerhouse, ProPublica.com. Marshalled resources to deliver the new site under an extremely tight timeline in order to meet business requirements.
- 2009 As Client Operations Manager at Solspace, managed ~10 remote developers working on a range of build, maintenance and software projects. Hired six developers in that time and established effective systems for communication and workflow standardization across a dispersed team.
- In 2006, launched CoCotodo.com, a local, user-contributed events calendar for Columbia County, NY. The site serves as a personal sandbox and proof-of-concept for geographically local community contributed media. It has been a success in three significant areas: 1) broad community adoption for publicizing events 2) usefulness to community members in finding events 3) extremely easy to maintain with low overhead.
- 2006-2008 Launched and maintained a robust web presence for Orion Magazine, folding the publication into a content management system for the first time and expanding it's reach and influence. In 2008, developed a membership site for the Orion Grassroots Network using a content management system at a fraction of the price estimated for custom development. The new OGN site automated many previously manual administrative tasks, freeing up time for OGN staff to spend working more directly on the organization's mission.
